How online sessions work
Most of William’s clients meet with him by video. It is the same therapy, the same care and the same rate, from wherever you feel most comfortable.
All you need
A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera, and a private spot where you can talk freely. Your car in a quiet parking lot works too.
Private and secure
Sessions run on a HIPAA-compliant video platform, and you get a private link before each session.
No commute, no waiting room
Skip the traffic, the parking and the extra time off work. It is easier to fit therapy around family, school and a job.
In person when you want it
Prefer a room and a face-to-face conversation? The office on Maclay Ave in San Fernando is available too.

William Martinez, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker · California & Idaho
William has spent more than 20 years helping couples, families and individuals who feel stuck, whether that shows up as constant arguments, a heavy mood that will not lift, or old pain that keeps getting in the way. He works in English and Spanish, and most of his clients meet with him by secure video from home.
Couples are the center of his practice. He is trained through Level 3 of the Gottman Method, and he pairs its practical tools with an understanding of how early attachment shapes the way partners fight, pull away and reach for each other.
His path into therapy started with a degree in conflict resolution and years of work with families under real pressure, in foster care and adoption, developmental disability services and a multidisciplinary team at UCLA. In sessions he listens without judgment and helps you build on the skills and strengths you already have.

How William works
No two couples or families arrive with the same story, so William starts by listening. The first few sessions are about understanding what is happening, what you have already tried, and what you want to be different. From there you set goals together and check them often, so you can see whether therapy is helping.
His methods are practical and well tested: the Gottman Method for couples, CBT and DBT skills for anxiety, low mood and big emotions, and structural family therapy for families. You will leave sessions with something to try at home, not just something to think about. Sessions happen by secure video from wherever you feel comfortable, or in person at his San Fernando office.
“I can confidently say he is an exceptional therapist. William has an incredible ability to connect with families and children, providing them with the support and guidance they need”
